To enhance civil society networks and their capabilities towards a more resilient and stable society, where an informed society has a more vital role and impact in shaping its present and future, MARS began implementing the “Societal Change Partners” program, which spans three years.
The first phase of this program began in 2022 to build and strengthen the capacities of people in the local community. The objective is to reach agreements between the components of civil society and local communities, including clarifying roles and responsibilities and empowering people within the local community.
Target Groups of the program:
1. First-level Target Group: This group includes representatives from the local community, civil activists, youth, women, and teenagers who do not have any partisan, political, or religious affiliations. The project aims to build their capacities in governance and peacebuilding through a comprehensive training program. Trained activists led practical activities for the stakeholders in their regions, and MARS played a crucial role in supervising the implementation of these activities with the contribution of the previously trained activists.
2. Second-level Target Group: This group consists of key actors, notables, stakeholders, elders, and leaders who are engaged in central dialogue sessions, community awareness sessions, coordination meetings, and networking activities to reach local understandings that ensure and enhance the role of people in the community and improve their impact.
