Promoting a Non-violence Culture and Strengthening Social Resilience

MARS Organization•Stories•Governance & Peacebuilding•Promoting a Non-violence Culture and Strengthening Social Resilience

MARS aims through this project to raise awareness among community members as quickly as possible about the catastrophic effects of using violence. It emphasizes that using non-violent means and enhancing the capabilities of civil society is the best way to achieve the legitimate demands of the people. The project identifies the primary needs and issues of the targeted sites in two main categories:
1. Reinforcing the understanding among community members that resorting to violence is not the sole means to resolve crises and conflicts.
2. Exacerbation of the negative impact caused by the escalation of military operations in the region on vulnerable and marginalized groups within society.

Project Objectives:

This project aims to enhance the community’s resilience and promote peaceful approaches by strengthening and supporting activists. It also seeks to increase the role of marginalized groups, such as women, teenagers, and young people who are most vulnerable to violence.

Project Activities:

  • Capacity-building training in citizenship, peacebuilding, and nonviolence culture.
  • Focused dialogue sessions within the community.
  • Solar energy livelihood training.
  • Field visits to community leaders and influential individuals.
  • Life skills training and psychosocial support.
  • Advocacy campaigns to promote nonviolence culture and peacebuilding.

Project Location:
