The project began in 2016 in partnership with NPA, aiming to raise awareness in the community about the risks of shelling, ammunition remnants, and non-explosive threats and to implement preventive measures to minimize their effects through a series of activities. In addition, approximately 80,000 diverse booklets were printed and distributed on various topics, including:
- Educational booklets about the risks of mine.
- First aid booklets.
- Preparedness and protection booklets in stages before, during, and after attack exposure.
- Awareness booklets about the risks of explosives for teenagers and children and preventive measures.
Project Objective:
Reducing the impact of explosive remnants of war, chemical weapons, and threats related to conflicts on civilians and Syrian communities in northwestern Syria.
Project Activities:
- Awareness sessions on war remnants and the risks of unexploded ordnance.
- Preparedness and protection awareness sessions during bombing stages (before, during, and after).
- Awareness sessions on providing first aid for injuries resulting from attacks.
- Training teachers on raising awareness and preparedness for the risks of explosive and non-explosive weapons.
- Awareness sessions for children through the use of storytelling.
Storytelling Activity:
This activity aims to raise awareness among children in Syria and its surrounding areas through the storyteller’s character. The storyteller, in their unique and traditional attire, narrates engaging stories related to awareness and preparedness activities, effectively conveying the idea to children in an exciting and easy-to-understand manner, thus increasing their awareness of the consequences of war remnants.
